Go up to 40 miles per charge with this 750-watt e-bike. With just a six-hour charge, you can cruise with a top speed of 28 mph. It has 27-inch wheels and nine speeds, and if you don’t mind the orange variant, Amazon has it discounted this bike from $1,199 to $799 over the past couple of months.

Swagtron/CNET

Our reviewer Joseph Kaminski called this folding electric bike “the best electric bike for small spaces and small budgets,” but what it lacks in size it makes up for in usability. Reaching speeds up to 15 mph, it has pedal assist and its own throttle. 

Jeston / CNET

One of the cheaper ways to get an e-bike is this Jetson model with a 30-mile range and max speed of 15mph. It weighs 41 pounds, arrives in black and right now has a $50 discount attached.

Radwagon/CNET

The RadWagon 5 is out now, so the price of the RadWagon 4 has dipped a bit, down $400 from its previous retail price. If replacing a car is your goal, this cargo bike might do the trick. You can haul groceries, kids and even the family dog with this bike, which can go up to 45 miles on a single charge and hold up to 350 pounds.

A folding e-bike with a 25-mile range, 44-pound weight, 20 mph max speed and 350-watt motor power. It’s not a huge discount, but it’s still one of the cheapest e-bikes on the market right now.

In his roundup of the best e-bikes of 2024, Kaminski called the Lectric XP 3.0 the best e-bike for heavy cargo. “It’s robust and versatile, with a total payload capacity of 330 pounds, including a rear rack that supports up to 150 pounds,” he says. So if you’re in the market for a bike with a long range that has big carrying capacity, this one will do the trick.
