What is the best Pixel 8 deal right now?

If you’re looking for straightforward savings on a previous-gen Pixel 8 phone, Amazon has the best offer available at the moment. The online retailer has knocked $200 off the basic Pixel 8 and $250 off the step-up Pixel 8 Pro. That’s not the absolute biggest discount available, but there’s no trade-in, new line or other conditions required to get this deal.

If you’re looking to add a new line of service at either AT&T or Verizon, you can save $100 when you purchase your Pixel 8 phone through Best Buy and opt for same-day activation. That knocks the basic Pixel 8 down to $599 and the Pixel 8 Pro down to $899.

Best Buy also has its own trade-in program where you can save up to $240 in exchange for your old phone from Apple, Google, Samsung and tons of other brands.

If you’re looking for a straightforward discount that doesn’t require a trade-in, new line or jumping through any other hoops, Amazon has the best offer available right now. You can save up to $200 on the Pixel 8 and $250 on the Pixel 8 Pro right now, which drops the starting prices down to $499 and $749 respectively. Just note that discounts vary quite a bit between different colors and configurations.

For the time being, you can still purchase both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro from Google directly. There aren’t any special offers or discounts, but you can save hundreds when you trade in your old phone. You can save up to $600, but only if you want to downgrade from the latest iPhones. Realistically, you’ll probably be trading in an older model that will net you a $200 to $300 discount.

This isn’t the best deal out there, but Google does still have most colors and configurations available, which is getting pretty rare at other retailers.

How we choose Pixel 8 deals at CNET

Most major service providers like AT&T and Verizon are now focusing their offers on the new Pixel 9 series, which makes it a little harder to score substantial savings on these previous-gen Google phones. To help you take advantage of any remaining bargains out there, we’ve scouted out the best deals available from third-party retailers — which are offering straightforward deals on unlocked models or have partnered with carriers to offer savings with a new line. We’ve also rounded up some of the best places to score savings if you’ve got an old phone to trade in.
