Best Prime Day TV deals

Samsung/CNET

This affordable 2024 4K TV comes with a feature called PurColor, which Samsung says guarantees the best quality picture. It also has a motion accelerator function designed to decrease lag. Though Amazon’s list price calls out a $22 discount, it launched at $330 just a few months ago.

Toshiba/CNET

The C350 series TV by Toshiba is a great budget option that costs even less right now, currently discounted by 32%. This is a Fire TV, so it’ll be best for streaming content, whether it be Prime Video or Netflix. The 4K resolution gives you a crisp picture as well.

Amazon/CNET

The Fire TV Omni models are solid options, especially for watching streaming services at home. They come built with 4K, HLG, HDR 10 and Dolby Digital Plus, giving you crisp, immersive images and sound. They also have built-in microphones to allow for a hands-free experience through Amazon Alexa. Just note that this deal is only available to Amazon Prime members.

Sony/CNET

This Sony TV is on the pricier side, but worth the cost without a price break, and even more so now that it’s discounted. This TV features a full-array backlight and 4K resolution, giving you the best picture possible. The TV also has HDR and Dolby Vision support, gaming features and HDMI 2.1. We saw it go about $100 lower than this last Black Friday, but this is a pretty great price outside of that shopping window.

How we choose the best Prime Day TV deals

Many of us at CNET have covered shopping events like Black FridayPrime DayMemorial Day and countless others for several years. In that time, we’ve learned how to spot the best deals among a sea of thousands of superficial offers and scams. We surface only the best offers from trusted retailers. When choosing television deals to show you, we look for real discounts, quality reviews and remaining sale time.

  • Real discounts mean genuine savings. We check pricing history for products listed as on sale, so we know when it’s a case of an inflated list price rather than an actual discount.
  • Quality reviews and testing are super important for any product. A discount isn’t worthwhile if it results in a subpar product experience, no matter how much you saved.
  • Remaining sale time is important, too. Some deals are around for only a short time or may be limited in supply. If that’s the case, we’ll let you know upfront so you don’t come back to the deal later only to be disappointed.

Are there TV deals worth shopping before Prime Day?

Amazon’s October Prime Day might be a few days off, but there are plenty of deals to shop in advance of its mega sale. If you can afford to wait, we expect to see even more products added into the mix once the sale kicks off on Oct. 8, and it’s likely that most of the above deals will stick around util then, so you should have even more choice.

How do October Prime Day TV deals compare to Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals?

For the last few years, October Prime Day — or Prime Big Deal Days, as it’s officially known — basically kicks off the fall shopping season that culminates with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Due to its proximity, many of the best TV sales will start during Prime Day and run through the end of November. That being said, if you can wait until Black Friday, you will probably see more deals total on TVs as retailers make room for new TV sets that tend to come out in January. However, the gulf in discounts isn’t much to write home about, and many of Black Friday’s best TV deals tend to be extremely limited in terms of both time and supply. If you’ve been looking for a new TV and see something you like and that is within your budget, pick it up during Prime Day sales and avoid the November rush.
