Apple Store Goes Offline Ahead of iPhone 16 ‘It’s Glowtime’ Event

The wait to see what Apple has in store with its line of iPhone 16 products is almost over. You can tell because the Apple Store has gone dark with a “Be right back” message as the company makes updates to its online storefront.

That’s because today’s “Glowtime” event – to begin broadcasting at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. BST, 3 a.m. AEST) on Apple’s website, YouTube and the Apple TV app – will debut the latest versions of the iPhone. The fall event is also expected to introduce new iterations of the Apple Watch and Apple’s ubiquitous AirPods.

Viewers are also likely to get more details about Apple Intelligence (the company’s branding of its generative AI offerings) and iOS 18, which we heard about in detail at WWDC. You can follow CNET’s live blog today to get up to speed on all the announcements as they happen.

The company typically closes its online store ahead of Apple Events and then opens it back up with information on new products, some of which will likely be available to order immediately once the shop is back online. We don’t know yet if the iPhone 16 will be available to order right after after Glowtime.
