Academic workers will walk off the job at UCLA and University of California at Davis next Tuesday to protest the university system’s crack down on pro-Palestinian demonstrations, the UAW announced Thursday.
The expanded strike marks an escalation of a work stoppage that began Monday at University of California at Santa Cruz, disrupting classes in the final weeks of the academic year. But the university system’s administration has called the strike “illegal” and has filed for a court-ordered injunction to end the strike.
