Bus carrying dozens of British schoolchildren to an Austrian ski resort crashes into a lorry while driving through Germany

A British school ski trip bus has crashed with a lorry while travelling through Germany.

The group of around 73 students from Ysgol Llanhari, in Rhondda Cynon Taf, were travelling in southern Germany while heading to a ski resort in Austria.

In an Instagram story posted by the school, they revealed that no schoolchildren were injured in the collision.

It also added the pupils were awaiting transport to take them on to Austria to continue their ski holiday.

Coach company Davey Travel Ltd said the crash took place on the B10 – a 190-mile federal highway between the state of Saarland and north-western Bavaria – near the Landau-Nord exit.

It said the school was in touch with parents and thanked emergency services in Germany.

According to the Landau police, the lorry hit the oncoming bus carrying the group of students at around 4:50a.m.

The truck driver was allegedly distracted, according to the Landau police.
